And second because of what a developer said that the change is based on actually trying to improve map generator, making the maps more interesting and fairly distributing maps features around. Im open to this change because of the above, making it so I can actually feel the need to interact with AIs that are close or be ready for war, not just turtle in my corner of the map. It's a strange spot for balance tho that really doesn't encourage or give a reward in trying to win if there is no way anyone can stop me because of the distance. Thank god there are other ways to win like in Planetfall but also that makes me loose interest really fast since i can win before AI armies get to me (yes I'm a noob playing on normal difficulty). I like chill games with quite the distance from the AI but to be fair it does encourage to never finish the maps since when I'm done exploring the map it's usually such a pain to walk 20 turns to closest enemy city specially with the city cap limiting how many cities there will be and that's not affected by the map size.
